Ontira Communications Awarded Contract for 24/7 Transit Trip Planning in Orlando
Vancouver, BC - January 26, 2007 - Ontira Communications Inc. (OCI®) has been selected by The Central Florida Regional Transportation Authority (d.b.a. LYNX) to provide web-based trip planning to transit users in the Central Florida Regional Area.
Ontira’s TripFinder will provide LYNX customers with 24/7 ability to plan full address-to-address, multi-modal trips. To receive a trip plan a user will be able to simply visit LYNX’s trip planning website and enter an origin and destination. TripFinder’s state-of-the-art routing algorithm will then generate a detailed door-to-door trip plan that includes a dynamic map and accurate route, bus stop, fare, and schedule information.
“As our service continues to grow for the citizens of Central Florida we realized it was time to improve and provide better customer service options for our riders,” says Linda S. Watson, LYNX CEO. “Ontira's TripFinder will offer our riders a user-friendly, efficient, and easy to use option to properly plan their trip(s). We are in the business of moving people and this will certainly help.”
TripFinder includes call center integration that will allow LYNX’s customer service representatives to improve service with functionalities such as the ability to directly email or fax trip and route information to customers. With room for future enhancements, TripFinder’s open architecture enables LYNX to expand trip planning services beyond its current service area on a regional or multi-modal basis.
“With its flexible open architecture, TripFinder not only integrates with any scheduling and geographic data sources, it is also a basis for growth as transit agencies expand services to include different regions, modes of transportation, or communications media,” comments Gerald Bachmayer, Director of Ontira Communications.
