Ontira Communications Selected to Deliver Real-Time Vehicle ETAs to Edmonton Paratransit Customers
Vancouver, BC - November 6, 2006 - Ontira Communications Inc. (OCI®) has been selected as a subcontractor by GreyHawk Technologies Inc. to provide vehicle estimated time of arrival (ETA) notifications to paratransit customers in Edmonton, Canada.
Ontira’s MessageCenter will provide vehicle ETAs via automated phone messages to customers of Edmonton's Disabled Adult Transit Service (DATS). DATS provides door-to-door public transportation for those who are unable to use regular transit because of physical or cognitive disabilities.
To deliver real-time notifications to customers, Ontira’s MessageCenter will be integrated with DATS’ scheduling databases and GreyHawk's Automated Vehicle Location (AVL) and Mobile Data Terminals (MDT). The MessageCenter notifications will be a proactive way for DATS to enhance service satisfaction, as customers will receive timely information without having to reach a call center agent.
