Ontira’s TripFinder Selected by METRO St Louis
VANCOUVER, BC, April 5, 2005 - Ontira Communications has been awarded a contract to provide TripFinder, Ontira’s multi-modal and multi-media transit trip planner, to Metro St. Louis.

With TripFinder, Metro’s riders will be able to plan trips over the web using textual or graphical input together with drop down menu selection. TripFinder immediately returns a series of recommended trip itineraries that include detailed walking instructions, transfer locations and times, fares, and route maps. Metro is enhancing TripFinder by adding the optional Call Center, Timetables, and Route Search feature modules.

"The primary reason TripFinder was selected was its effective use of technology offering future expandability and inter-operability across all communications mediums such as the web and Interactive Voice Response (IVR)" said Tom Dutton, Director of Operations Systems, Information Technology, with Metro. "TripFinder will provide our riders with convenient 24/7 access to trip planning information and encourage new riders to use the Metro system, especially on poor air quality days."

TripFinder will be available to Metro St Louis transit riders in September 2005.

Ontira Communications (www.ontira.com) has been providing multimedia information solutions to transit companies across North America since 1984.

METRO St. Louis (www.metrostlouis.org), formally Bi-State Development Agency, was established in 1949 and is the public transportation system operator of MetroBus, MetroLink, and Call-A-Ride in the greater St. Louis area.
