Ontira to Install TripFinder in Springfield, Massachusetts
VANCOUVER, BC - Ontira Communications will install TripFinder, web-based trip planning software, in Springfield, Massachusetts. StrataGen Systems awarded Ontira the sub-contract to provide this software today. TripFinder will be a part of the integrated transit software system implemented at the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority (PVTA) of Springfield.
Once TripFinder is installed, PVTA riders can visit one web site to plan trips throughout the Springfield transit region. TripFinder users will enter the trip origin and destination by typing an address, intersection, or landmark, by selecting a stop from a list, or by clicking an interactive map. Once users adjust the date and time of the trip, TripFinder does the rest.
TripFinder will quickly return detailed trip plans to users. Trip plans include the length of the suggested trips, transfer locations and times, fares, route maps, and walking directions.
Customer service agents will use TripFinder's Customer Service Module to provide information over the phone in three distributed call centers. Agents will use TripFinder to provide trip plans to callers, search for stops, search for routes, and retrieve detailed schedule information not available to the general public.
Ontira will customize, test, and install TripFinder for PVTA. TripFinder includes Novo's mTravel™ software.
